When to visit Marrakech
The climate in Marrakech is appealing all year round, with plenty of sunshine to soak up and enjoy. During the summer months, temperatures can be anywhere between 30-38’C. With January and February being the coldest months of the year, temperatures still average at a very pleasant 18’C. In July there is the Marrakech Popular Arts Festival, which hosts traditional Moroccan music and dance, as well as snake charmers, fire breathers, fortune tellers and many more, offering an exciting way to experience traditional Moroccan culture.
The main events take place in the ruins of the 16th century Badi Palace and the Djemma el Fna. During January and February there is usually enough snowfall in the Atlas Mountains to accommodate skiers, with the Oukaimden ski resort just outside Marrakech offering several ski lifts. The views are spectacular, so even if there is not enough snow, it’s well worth the trip.
